Tournament Information:

  • Three game guarantee – ALL teams advance to Championship rounds – consolation games for 12U and under

  • More than 80% of teams participating in 2009 tournaments played four or more games

  • Teams from Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Missouri participate in tourneys

  • Sixth year of hosting Cornshucker Tournaments in Eastern Iowa

  • All USSSA Baseball rules apply – extra hitter rule may be used

  • All games umpired by USSSA registered umpires

  • Baseballs provided

  • Portable mounds for 10U-13U

  • Player trophies for 1st and 2nd place teams in each division

  • Schedules posted to Website seven days prior to tournament

  • Entry deadline is 10 days prior to tournament or when full

  • All games to be played in the Cedar Rapids metro area sports complexes

  • All proceeds in 2010 go toward renovation of Lisbon Park basball field

$260.00 if registering after March 1

 (Gate fee of $150.00 for all divisions – must be paid prior to first game)

 Cornshucker Baseball Club

 Spring League

 

 

 

USSSA-sanctioned league with three divisions:

14U (8th/FR), 15/16U (JV) and 17/18 (Varsity) divisions*

 

Weekends of March 20-21 through May 8-9 (excluding Easter Sunday) 

 

New in 2010: Spring League Tournament the weekend of May 8-9 (no additional costs for tourney)  

 

Spring League fee:  $85.00 per player (All registrations on a team must be submitted at the same time)

 

All dates are doubleheaders played in Lisbon and Cedar Rapids area

 

Registrations and signed waivers (on the back of form) due by March 10, 2010 

 

Teams participating in spring league will have gate fee waived in one other Cornshucker Tournament in 2010!

League Information

·         6th year of spring league – more than 200 players participated in spring league in 2009.

·         All baseball players completing grades 8 through 12 by the end of the 2009-2010 school year are eligible to participate.

·         *Ages for each division are included as JUST a guideline. Teams may choose to play at another division if appropriate.

·         Teams will play doubleheaders. Each game will have a seven inning or 1:40 time limit (USSSA rule).

·         Rain dates will be scheduled on other league dates throughout the season when possible.

·         All Iowa High School Athletic Association (IAHSAA) 2010 Rules will be enforced. IAHSAA licensed umpires used.

·         A continuous batting order and free defensive substitutions allowed. No score is kept during regular season games.

·         Individual, partial team and full team sign-up options are available for the league. Team roster sizes are unlimited.

·         League fee covers umpire fees, use of facilities, equipment, baseballs and player T-Shirts.

·         Efforts will be made to schedule teams around potential conflicts with other activities. However, these conflicts should 

           be communicated to the league coordinator prior to March 10, 2010. No exceptions!

·         USSSA teams will receive points toward state USSSA tournament.

·         Each team is responsible for providing coaches, scorekeepers and all other baseball equipment. Coaches must be over 

           18 years of age and have valid drivers’ license.

 Teams are guaranteed four doubleheaders (which may include tournament weekend). (Partial refund policy applies if teams play less than the guaranteed games. However, teams that choose not to make-up games are not eligible for the partial refund policy.)
